Stop guessing at the dose. Start testing for it.
AK Diagnostics Laboratory runs clinical, toxicology, pharmacogenomic, and next‑generation sequencing panels for behavioral health, primary care, pain management, and specialty practices. Results providers can act on, not just file away.
Prescribing by trial. Or prescribing by data.
Behavioral health medications are notoriously trial‑and‑error. A buccal swab and a color‑coded report can shorten that path considerably.
Without pharmacogenomic testing
With AK Diagnostics PGx testing
What becomes possible with data behind the decision.
Prescribe with confidence.
Personalized medication guidance drawn from each patient's own genetic profile, not population averages.
Cut the trial‑and‑error.
Fewer failed medication attempts means fewer follow‑up visits and faster relief for the patient in front of you.
Catch interactions early.
Flag gene‑drug interactions before a prescription is written, across psychiatric, pain, and cardiac medications.
Support every specialty.
One test menu spans behavioral health, primary care, pain management, cardiology, and long‑term care.
What changes once we're your lab.
Built for the way specialty practices actually test.
Primary care, behavioral health, pain management, cardiology, internal medicine, long‑term care. If you're ordering diagnostic or genetic testing, AK Diagnostics processes it under one requisition, from one lab.

Hereditary Cancer Risk (CGx)
Genes associated with hereditary breast, ovarian, colorectal, and other inherited cancer syndromes.
Hereditary Metabolic Disorders
Inborn errors of amino acid, organic acid, fatty acid, and urea cycle metabolism.
Chronic Autoimmune Panel
Genes linked to chronic autoimmune conditions including RA, lupus, MS, and Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
The data behind earlier, broader screening.
Available as early as 10 weeks gestation, our NIPT/NIPS panel evaluates chromosomal aneuploidies alongside 56 genes associated with more than 30 monogenic conditions.
*AK Prenatal Cell‑Free DNA Screening is a screening test, not a diagnostic one. A high‑risk result requires diagnostic follow‑up before any decisions about the pregnancy are made.
Questions providers actually ask.
How long do results take?
Clinical and toxicology panels: 24–48 hours. Urine toxicology confirmatory testing: 2–3 days. Pharmacogenomics: 3–10 days depending on panel. Next Generation Sequencing panels: 7–21 days depending on scope.
What has to ship with each specimen?
A completed test requisition form, a copy of the patient's insurance card (front and back), and any applicable physician or clinical notes, plus the shipping manifest, emailed and included in the box.
How is insurance handled?
We verify patient insurance within 24 hours of receiving the specimen, to support timely processing and billing review.
Do you provide collection kits?
Yes. Buccal swab and urine collection kits ship to your practice. The onboarding form lets you flag your preferred kit type and estimated monthly volume.
What are your shipping requirements?
Ship specimens the same day as collection, Monday through Thursday, using the prepaid overnight label provided. Specimens received after hours or on holidays are processed the next business day.
Is AK Prenatal Screening diagnostic?
No. It's a screening test. If a high‑risk result is identified, diagnostic follow‑up is required before any decisions about the pregnancy are made.
